The Faculty of Political Science Theater Group (SBFTT), also known as TT among students, was established in the 1950s and has been staging plays regularly every year since 1994. The group follows a two-stage working process.

During the first stage, in the fall semester, members receive basic acting training, focusing on voice and speech skills, stage performance, and expression. At the same time, they engage in rigorous theater theory studies. The spring semester is dedicated to preparing and rehearsing the selected play for performance. Every year, the selected play is performed in May and again in October to introduce TT to freshmen and give them the opportunity to watch the play.

You can easily spot a TT member by their laughter in the backyard of the faculty, as they are together most of the time. They are famous for their voices being heard even from the middle canteen while rehearsing in the ‘Küçük Amfi,’ which they refer to as their second home. In May, you can also see them in the middle canteen, joyfully shouting and singing songs while handing out invitations to their play. All students who are interested in theater may join SBFTT without any audition.

The group’s outstanding feature is that they are a collective group. Despite having a director elected by members, every member works together to bring the play as close to perfection as possible, as they make their costumes and decors mostly by themselves. They also have a strong bond with former TT members.

On March 27th, which is World Theatre Day, they organize a cocktail event at Mülkiyeliler Birliği, where all TT members, old and new, come together, share their experiences, and enjoy their time together. TT is one of the best places where you can express yourself freely without being judged which is, essentially, what theater is all about! When everything has been said, only one thing remains to be said:

'KÜÇÜK AMFİ SAHNE OLSA YA!’
